2e prize at the SIA's Student Challenge

Two 51 School teams came second and third in the Student Challenge organized by the Société des Ingénieurs de l'Automobile (SIA) on June 12 in Port Marly.

The team made up of Bouchra Ahnine, Bérénice Maréchal and Quentin Petit, all students in the Electrification of Automotive Propulsion (EPA) program, took second place on the podium thanks to their eco-design project of a battery electric vehicle.

The team was coached by Daniel Carlos da Silva, engineer at 51 Energies nouvelles, and Matthieu Couillandeau, battery component specialist at Renault. It was also supported by Ouafae El Ganaoui-Mourlan, EPA Program Supervisor, and El Hadj Miliani, Electricity Management and Digital Program Sanager.

Arthur Grandon, Corentin Lepez and Axel Sanson, students in the Energy and Powertrains program (MOT), came 3rd after presenting their project to convert a single-cylinder, multipurpose gasoline engine into an H2 engine. They were coached by Stéphane Richard (Vision Technology).

Two other teams from the MOT program also competed in the final, with projects entitled “Study of the viability of PHEVs (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles) Long Range in the European market” and “Optimization of a Work Vessel Powertrain”.

For this edition, teams had to present their project in the form of a poster, addressing major issues such as alternative powertrains, electrification, hydrogen, eco-design and energy modeling.

These successes reflect the talent and commitment of our students to sustainable innovation.

Well done to all the teams for their creativity, technical skills and dedication!
